Established for 20 years with Outstanding from Ofsted
We are proud of the learning environment we provide for all our children at Teddy Bears. Established 20 years ago, our pre-school is a caring and inspiring environment where your child can begin their own learning journey.
The team of eight friendly, caring staff are qualified in early years and have many years of experience. Each child is assigned a Key Person, who takes responsibility for getting to know your child and learning all about their interests and needs.
The dedicated team help the children to progress in all seven areas of development. The teachers have a extensive range of resources which they use in their weekly planning of both indoor and outdoor activities. Every day Teddy Bears is laid out with carefully planned activities for your children to access at their own stage of development. Play dough, dressing up, painting, make believe, craft, puppets, science and much much more are provided to help your child use free play to develop their skills. The teachers also help the children explore the outside area, where there are balance bikes, sandpits and many other outdoor toys and games.
There are also adult-led, focused activities that help the children to learn certain skills, especially in maths and literacy.
Teddy Bears mum Nerys Case, was keen to share her experiences:
‘Both my children have attended Teddy Bears and hugely enjoyed their time there. My little girl was nervous at first but her Key Person was so fantastic at helping her settle – and supporting me through leaving her for the first time too! It made the transition so easy for us. Once she knew how much fun she was going to have every day she really looked forward to going.
Now my son is a Teddy Bear and he absolutely loves all the different activities on offer.’
Teddy Bears has forged strong links with Poulner Infants School, and in September 2019 are moving onto the Infant School site. Teddy Bears will have a dedicated classroom with fabulous secure outside area for playing and exploring. The relationship between the Teddy Bears and the school makes for a smooth transition to the infants school.
